A little history: We have always had dogs like any ranch does. We had Aussies and mutts and English Shepherds. In 2005, the first border collie came into my life. I was just puppy-sitting him until his owner moved back home. His name was Freeway. He was the smartest, most gritty pup I have ever known. Freeway was all business and loved to work but he also really loved me. I started him on stock and made a lot of mistakes but we learned so much together. After he went back to his owner, there was a hole in my life that my Aussie couldn’t fill. So the decision was made to purchase our first border collie. And so entered Gus, another truly special individual. To be continued…
